Welcome to Kelburn Scout Group!
Located in Wellington’s Botanic gardens the Kelburn Scout Group was founded in 1909 and is one of the oldest scout groups in New Zealand.
We currently run three youth sections: Keas, Cubs and Scouts.
Scouts meets on Monday nights from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
Cubs meets on Wednesday nights from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.
Keas meets on Thursday nights from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.
We have an enquiry from for parents and scouts interested in joining us.
Our scout den is a less than a minute’s walk from the iconic cable car station in the Wellington Botanic Gardens.
Adventure

For young people 11 and up, we run one big adventure a term. This could be a camp or a tramp, but it will be outdoors usually over a weekend.
Fun

Our weekly programme is focused on fun activities that allow young people to work in teams.
Leadership

We help all young people develop their leadership potential. Using the weekly programme, adventure, and community engagement we help young people hone their leadership skills.

Bike Night
We are thrilled to have Matt and Paul in to help with the bicycling badge. We covered the Aotearoa Cycle Trail. The scouts were fascinated by the ride from the Cape Reinga to Bluff. Paul Kennett (with his brother) is the author of numerous books on bike trails and biking in New Zealand.
