ANZAC Day preparation

To celebrate ANZAC day we are spending a night in the Lawson Scout Hall before heading down to the dawn ceremony.

We had the kids iron their shirts and scarves, they even shined their shoes (see below).

We did a bit of marching practice to help them get ready for the dawn parade.

We took them down to the field of remeberance to look at the 1500 crosses each with a name remembering a fallen individual. It is a poingent reminder of the cost of conflict.

The first breakfast is laid out (oatmeal and milo) so the kids don’t pass out during the ceremony.

Roll on our early morning start.
